Dear Eagle’s Nest Owners and Guests,
As you are aware from our recent SandScript articles, Eagle’s Nest began the walkway restoration and screen enclosure replacement project on April 9, 2010 and will continue the project until completion of the Tower portion in late June. Since you will be with us during this challenging but necessary undertaking, we wanted to inform you of some of the details and what to expect, so that you may plan your vacation activities accordingly.
Work began April 9 on floors 1, 2 and 3. Hours of work permitted by Marco Island city code are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; however, we restrict equipment-related noise to after 8 a.m. This is an extremely time-sensitive endeavor and will require expedient check-out, with strict adherence to our check-out time of 10 a.m., on floors going into their two-week renovation period. Notification to the front desk of your early departure will be greatly appreciated, as we can plan timely crew deployments based on our knowledge of guest departures.
We realize your vacation has been much anticipated and has added to our activity program, with outdoor entertainment for your enjoyment, while we enhance and preserve the future of your home away from home. Included will be a week’s worth of poolside fun and games, hosted by your recreation team, Claudia, Mary, Gwen and Christine. You won’t want to miss activities such as “Blue Marco Monday,” “Corn Toss Tuesday” and, perhaps best of all, complimentary Bloody Marys, while enjoying burgers and bingo on Thursdays.
Noise will be most noticeable on Friday and Saturday, as the existing membrane is ground off to expose the raw concrete. This process is necessary for inspection and repair to any existing concrete spalls. If not addressed on a regular schedule, spalling concrete can lead to complete deterioration of a structure. After this removal and repair process is complete, which will likely carry into Monday and Tuesday, the quieter work of preparing the floors and installing new membrane will continue for several days. Completion of a three-floor area’s two-week renovation period ends with the installation of new screen enclosures. In the event of inclement weather, schedules will vary. However, the typical week would indicate the quietest days to be indoors at the Tower may be Wednesday and Thursday. It is not expected that significant noise, if any, will be heard at the villas, poolside areas or the beach.
The best approach, for the good of the association as a whole, is to embrace the challenges and inconveniences that come with a project of this nature. Each person involved, from engineering and contractors to EN management, owners, Board Members and staff, will need to bring patience, cooperation and commitment to the success of this project. This will ensure the continued enjoyment of your EN lifestyle, plus heightened interest in sales, rental and exchanging into this beautiful resort we all take great pride in ... Our Home ... The Eagle’s Nest on Marco Beach. Let’s all give our best effort to continue positive representation of our warm and inviting atmosphere, while preparing ourselves for the future – as the Crown Jewel of Marco Beach.
Sincerely,
Mona Fohlbrook
